Audition Information:
Auditions will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025. Invited candidates will be asked to return a confirmation form with a $50.00 refundable audition deposit to arrive by Monday, May 12, to secure an audition time. Audition times will be assigned on Tuesday, May 13.

Position details:
Second Bassoon is a per-service position and is contracted for a minimum of 105 services each season. The 2025-26 season begins September 1, 2025 and ends May 18, 2026.
The per-service rate for the 2025-26 season is $137.78. The Knoxville Symphony provides a pension contribution of 3% for each service.
Second bassoon may be asked to play first bassoon on occasion.
The Knoxville Symphony does not reimburse musicians for mileage or provide lodging. The Knoxville Symphony cannot offer employment if a musician does not have proper immigration clearances.
