2nd Oboe/English Horn Auditions - Pacific Northwest Ballet
Only highly qualified candidates will be invited to audition. Auditions will be held in Seattle at McCaw Hall. Preliminary Auditions will start at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The excerpts will be identical for all candidates. Final Auditions will start after the Preliminary Auditions on the same day.
As part of the Final Audition, candidates may be required to return to Seattle later to perform with the Orchestra led by the Music Director. Deadline to submit one-page resume is January 4, 2025.

Please email a one-page résumé that reflects your orchestral experience and music education no later than Jan 4, 2025. You will be emailed a PDF of the excerpts upon receipt of your resume.

On January 9 we will notify all candidates whether they will be invited to audition. Invited candidates will be emailed further details at that time.
Audition deposit checks will be returned to candidates upon their arrival at the audition or will be returned to candidates who are not selected to audition.

The PNB Orchestra is a per service orchestra. Employment benefits include access to health, dental and vision insurance plans. There is also a 401K plan.
Employment will begin September 1, 2025, or at the earliest availability after September 1, 2025 of the winning candidate. For the 2025-2026 season, Section rates will be $242.72 for each 2.5-hour service and $291.27 for each 3-hour service.
There are six Repertory productions per season plus Nutcracker. There are on average 9 services per Repertory production and approximately 40 Nutcracker services.
The season usually runs from mid-September to early June. Repertory productions are typically scheduled within a two-week framework. Nutcracker starts in late November and finishes at the end of December. All players are required to play a minimum of 70% of Nutcracker services but can opt to play all services.
